Provides services for pregnant women living in Flint and Genesee County, and services for African American mothers with children two years old or younger. MIHAS Advocates provide home visits and give one-to-one support and encouragement. MIHAS advocates can help fill out forms and applications, and they give referrals for food, clothing, parenting classes, transportation, and more, to make sure every woman and her baby have everything needed for a healthy start. Through REACH 2010 and Flint Healthy Start, services are provided specifically to African American women and infants, aimed at reducing the disparity in African American infant mortality.
